A lot of work isn't a job.
It's a brand refresh, a month of bookkeeping, a few weeks on a build. It's paid by the hour and done by someone who works for themselves, and a listing written around an annual salary and a start date doesn't fit it.
EMeetE now handles it properly. Here's how it works.
If you're hiring
- When you draft a listing, tick Freelance role.
- The salary fields turn into an hourly rate range, and the hours dropdown goes away.
- It's posted like any other listing: your company is validated first, and there's a flat fee per listing, with your first three listings free.
- A Freelance badge shows on the listing, so nobody mistakes it for a permanent role.
If you freelance
- On your profile, tick Open to freelance, and add the hourly range you'd work for if you want to.
- Freelance listings are shown only to people who ticked it. If you haven't, you won't see them, and your normal matches stay as they are.
- Add your portfolio link. Employers see it, along with your contact details, when you apply.
How it's scored
It's the same process: your CV is read in full and scored 0 to 100 with a simple summary. For freelance work the scoring compares hourly rates, looks at what you've actually done, counts self-employed, contract and portfolio work, and is a little more relaxed about formal requirements that aren't central to the work.
WHAT DOESN'T CHANGE
- Dealbreakers still apply first: right to work, the listing's essentials, and location unless the work is remote or hybrid.
- Nothing is applied for automatically. You press Apply.
- The employer sees the score and the reasons, and a person decides.
Share it
Got a freelance gig to fill? Share the listing link anywhere you'd share a Seek or Trade Me ad: a message, a community group, LinkedIn. Whoever opens it can sign up and apply.
Listings on EMeetE come from validated businesses. Private individuals can't post (yet. Contact us if you're interested in this).
