Every other job site was built by someone looking at the problem from the outside. I built mine from inside it.

Seek, TradeMe, LinkedIn, all the slick new "AI" apps, even the well-funded ones bolting AI matching onto existing software, were all built by people who had some idea, and the money and the distance to build it from a position of comfort, and likely without their own context or raw experience. Nothing much wrong with that. But none of them are using their own product to find their own next job.

I am.

I lost my job on June 6th, the day before my eldest's 7th birthday. Since then, I've been sent a thousand or so "recommended" roles, applied to dozens, and heard back from almost none of them. Saw an ad this week for one of the auto-apply tools, the entire video was someone hitting one key to apply, without even reading the job title. That's not a shortcut, that's a thousand people running for the same door, treating their career like a game, not a decision that actually matters.

It should be horrifying that this is normal now, on both sides. I asked a recruiter recently how bad it actually gets from the employer side; one digital marketing role, 127 applicants, 5 who were actually a real fit for what they needed. That's not a glitch in the system. That's the system. There's a flood of spam and overseas noise too, just drowning out real applicants, like me and you.

So I built EMeetE. Not from the outside looking at some market opportunity, but from the inside, because I'm literally the user. Scoring every match out of 100, with a quick summary that we've talked about, for both sides. No keyword guessing, no swiping, no cover letter wasting anyone's time with fluff. Just actual people who fit actual roles.

THE IRONY

This isn't a startup chasing a market from a boardroom. It's me, trying to get a job, building the tool I wished existed while I was drowning in noise. And the irony? If it kicks off, EMeetE becomes my job.
